Job description

Phoenix Staff is seeking an experienced SAP Functional Analyst with a strong background in SAP Controlling (CO) and Financial Supply Chain Management (FSCM) to support enterprise SAP initiatives within a complex manufacturing environment.

This role requires hands-on SAP configuration experience. The ideal candidate will have experience configuring and supporting cost centers, profit centers, internal orders, profitability analysis, and FSCM processes, along with company code setup and SAP transport management.

The successful candidate will work directly with business stakeholders and technical teams to configure, troubleshoot, test, and implement SAP solutions supporting financial operations and organizational growth.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on SAP CO configuration, including cost center accounting, profit center accounting, internal orders, profitability analysis (CO-PA), and related controlling processes.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot SAP FSCM functionality, including credit management, collections management, and dispute management.
  • Support SAP FI/CO integration and ensure accurate financial data flow across controlling and accounting processes.
  • Configure and maintain SAP organizational structures, including company code creation and related master data.
  • Manage and coordinate SAP transports across development, testing, and production environments, validating configuration changes before release.
  • Partner with finance, controlling, and operations teams to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and implement functional improvements.
  • Perform configuration testing, defect resolution, and deployment support for SAP enhancements and implementations.
  • Maintain functional documentation and ensure changes follow established governance and change management practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of hands-on SAP FICO functional experience, with strong expertise in SAP Controlling (CO).
  • Demonstrated experience personally performing SAP CO configuration, particularly cost centers, profit centers, internal orders, and profitability analysis (CO-PA).
  • Experience with SAP FSCM functionality, particularly credit management, collections, and dispute management.
  • Understanding of FI/CO integration and how controlling processes interact with financial accounting.
  • Experience configuring SAP organizational structures, including company codes and associated master data.
  • Working knowledge of SAP transports, change management, and release processes.
  • Experience supporting SAP implementations, enhancements, upgrades, or production environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to work directly with business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with product costing, cost element accounting, and other advanced SAP CO functionality.
  • Experience supporting SAP in manufacturing, production, or industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA and/or ECC environments.
  • Exposure to additional SAP finance solutions, including Treasury, Group Reporting, or Multi-Bank Connectivity.
  • Experience supporting multiple legal entities, company codes, or global financial operations.

Success Factors

  • Strong hands-on SAP CO configuration skills, rather than experience limited to business analysis, project coordination, or oversight.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex SAP CO and FSCM issues.
  • Understanding of the relationship between controlling, financial accounting, and manufacturing operations.
  • Comfortable working directly with business users to translate requirements into functional SAP configuration.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing configuration changes through testing and production deployment.
