Backend Software Engineer - Send for Banks

• Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable services
• Lead development efforts in event-driven architectures
• Architect, design and optimise relational databases to ensure performance and scalability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support partner integrations and expand the Wise payment platform globally
• Participate in code reviews, champion best coding practices and mentor junior engineers

We’re looking for an engineer with relevant experience who can analyse complex requirements and deliver simple solutions to help our teams achieve our mission with speed and confidence., We are fully aware that it is uncommon for a candidate to have all skills required and we fully support everyone in learning new skills with us. • You have experience of Java 8+, experience with Spring framework
• Knowledge of the microservices architecture and event-driven design
• Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar messaging systems is a plus
• Strong knowledge of relational databases with the ability to design schemas, optimise queries and ensure data integrity
• Proficiency in domain-driven design (DDD) to model complex business domains is a plus
• A strong product mindset and passion for user experience, ability to prioritise work with the customers in mind and make data-driven decisions
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a collaborative team environment
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

Send for Banks empowers banks to leverage Wise’s infrastructure to offer their customers world class payments products through their own channels. We collaborate closely with Analysts, Implementation Success, Solutions Engineering and Business Development teams along with other Wise Engineering teams to support partner integrations alongside Product managers and embark on new and thrilling projects that expand our network of global partnerships.
