Job description

The Senior IT Systems Engineer will serve as B360 ‘s senior infrastructure engineering and systems administration resource supporting NIGC’s hybrid on-premises and Microsoft cloud environment. The position is responsible for administering, maintaining, troubleshooting, integrating, and optimizing enterprise IT infrastructure across networking, server, virtualization, cloud, storage, identity, and endpoint platforms within a production federal environment.

B360 is seeking a candidate with substantial hands-on experience supporting enterprise IT operations and infrastructure services. The successful candidate will have direct experience managing production systems, administering enterprise platforms, supporting end users and mission systems, resolving complex technical issues, and implementing infrastructure improvements that enhance reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.

This role is not primarily focused on cybersecurity governance, compliance documentation, policy development, or oversight activities. While familiarity with federal cybersecurity requirements is beneficial, the Government is seeking a systems engineer whose primary expertise centers on infrastructure administration, systems engineering, cloud operations, networking, and enterprise IT support., * Minimum six (6) years of senior-level systems engineering, infrastructure administration, cloud administration, network administration, or enterprise IT operations experience.

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience administering and supporting enterprise IT infrastructure within production environments.
  • Experience supporting hybrid environments consisting of on-premises infrastructure and cloud-based services.
  • Direct experience performing systems administration, infrastructure management, configuration management, troubleshooting, maintenance, monitoring, systems integration, and operational support activities.
  • Experience supporting enterprise networking, Windows and Linux server environments, virtualization platforms, cloud platforms, endpoint management systems, storage solutions, and identity management services.
  • Experience supporting environments governed by federal IT standards, operational best practices, and service delivery requirements.

Required Hands-On Responsibilities

Infrastructure Administration

  • Administer and maintain Windows Server and Linux server environments.
  • Manage Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, and enterprise identity infrastructure.
  • Perform server provisioning, upgrades, patching, maintenance, performance tuning, and lifecycle management activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues impacting production operations.

Cloud Administration

  • Administer Microsoft Azure infrastructure and cloud services.
  • Support Microsoft 365 tenant administration, licensing, service health, and operational management.
  • Configure and maintain cloud-based identity, authentication, and access management services.
  • Support hybrid cloud integrations and modernization initiatives.

Network Administration

  • Administer Cisco network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN technologies.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity, routing, switching, performance, and availability issues.
  • Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh efforts.

Virtualization and Storage Operations

  • Administer VMware vSphere and ESXi environments.
  • Manage virtual machine deployment, maintenance, monitoring, and lifecycle operations.
  • Support enterprise storage platforms, backup systems, disaster recovery processes, and recovery testing activities.

Endpoint and Device Management

  • Support enterprise endpoint management platforms and workstation environments.
  • Manage operating system deployments, software distribution, patching, device lifecycle activities, and mobile device management solutions.

Monitoring and Operational Support

  • Configure and maintain infrastructure monitoring and alerting solutions.
  • Perform proactive monitoring, incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis activities.
  • Support operational continuity through effective issue resolution and service restoration.

Systems Engineering and Process Improvement

  • Evaluate existing infrastructure and recommend improvements to enhance performance, reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in systems integration, modernization, migration, and infrastructure improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain systems administration procedures, architecture documentation, diagrams, inventories, and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Visio?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, Network Engineering, Cloud Computing, or a closely related technical field preferred.

Industry-recognized certifications may supplement or substitute for formal education where permitted, but demonstrated hands-on infrastructure administration experience is mandatory.
