Job description

A fortune 100 company is seeking a Data Scientist for a contract to hire role that will work onsite 3 days a week in the Bengaluru India area. You will join a small and highly collaborative team that is responsible for rapid prototyping. To be successful, you will need to have a positive mindset, proactive problem solving mentality that strives to deliver solutions to the customer.

This individual will be responsible for the following:

Partner with business users and leaders in problem solving approaches and exploring business challenges that can be addressed with data science and machine learning. Learn and understand Business domain, and co-develop narratives guiding business users through ideation and estimation on solutions that drive business value.

Analyze data, build statistical & machine learning models and algorithms. Improve upon existing machine learning methodologies by identifying new data sources, developing and testing model enhancements, running computational experiments, and fine-tuning model parameters for new models.

Formalize assumptions about how models are expected to behave, creating definitions of outliers, developing methods to systematically identify these outliers, and explaining why they are reasonable or identifying fixes for them, and ensuring deliverables meet scope, quality and timeline targets.

Requirements

Proven experience and knowledge of Python, R, with strong SQL skills. Strong knowledge of visualization in Power BI & experience of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.

Proven experience and knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, etc.) along with Experience in an Azure environment highly preferred, combined with Experience working with enterprise scale databases, with demonstrated ability to independently query and prepare data for analysis., 3-5 years of experience in Data Science

3+ years of experience working with Generative AI models, Prompt Engineering, RAG, or finetuning using LLM’s LVM’s or TTS

2+ years of experience with frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and working knowledge of Generative AI models like GPT and GANs

2+ years of experience with Python, R and SQL for data analysis, modeling, and data pipeline development

Experience deploying to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and large-scale data processing tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark). PowerBI, tableau or other visualization tools

Masters or PhD Degree in a quantitative field such as Machine Learning, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or Economics

Experience in Azure

Experience with Azure Devops or GitHub

Understanding of terraform or infrastructure as code
