Job description

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Application Engineer serves multiple roles as a valuable member of the Systems team. This position will work in many functions of project delivery including detailed design engineering, concept engineering, project execution, integration support, and sales consulting for our automated solutions., * Specify system components needed to meet the customer objectives, i.e., the correct type of sortation, conveyance, etc., based on throughput requirements, storage capacity needs, material to be handled, etc.

  • Develop all required mechanical drawings for proposals and projects; plan view drawings, elevation view drawings, installation drawings, throughput models, etc.
  • Create detailed system proposals, inclusive of preparing cost estimates, soliciting pricing from suppliers and sub-contractors, and generating detailed proposal documentation
  • Generate system bill of materials, spare parts lists and orders equipment and services for projects
  • Continually establishes and maintains relationships with equipment suppliers and sub-contractors to support development of designs, pricing and delivery schedules
  • Creates detailed description of operation documentation, for use by the site operations and maintenance
  • Participate in visits to customer facilities, as needed to document existing conditions, as well as identify opportunities to improve, expand or upgrade systems

Requirements

Do you have experience in Stakeholder relationship building?, Do you have a Trade school?, * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the material handling industry
  • Experience with automated sortation technologies (shoe, MDR transfers, etc.)
  • Experience with automated pallet-handling equipment (conveyors, transfers, turntables, lifts)

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Exposure to industrial control concepts (PLCs, VFDs, WCS/WMS, HMIs, Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet, Modbus)

Preferred

  • Experience in manufacturing or warehouse process optimization
  • Experience with Hytrol conveyors and HyCAD
  • Experience with rack and storage systems
  • Experience with the proposal and estimate creation process, * Residence in Greater Cincinnati or Columbus, OH areas
  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED), and/or technical school
  • Minimum of one to three years’ related experience in the lift truck industry preferred
  • General mechanical aptitude
  • Strong customer service focus and communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Must maintain a clean driving record, as the position involves travel
  • Must work well independently and in team environment
  • Must be a driven and self-motivated individual
