Job description

Kentucky Public Pensions Authority (KPPA) is currently seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Architect in the Division of Enterprise and Technology Services. Located in Frankfort, Kentucky, KPPA is responsible for the investment of funds and administration of pension and health insurance benefits for nearly 444,000 state and local government employees, state police officers, and nonteaching staff of local school boards and regional universities. Daily system activities, including administrative support, investment management, benefits counseling, accounting and payroll functions, and legal services, are performed by a staff of professional employees working as the KPPA. KPPA covers three separate systems: Kentucky Employees Retirement Systems (KERS), County Employees Retirement System (CERS), and the State Police Retirement System (SPRS)., * Analyzes and designs the overall architecture of Business Intelligence (BI) solutions.

  • Designs data warehousing solutions, data integration strategies, and data governance to ensure data is used efficiently and effectively.
  • Manages multiple projects throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Contributes to scope, development of goals and deliverables, preparation of work plans, test scripts, training materials.
  • Plans, develops, and presents information technical trainings and enterprise-wide training programs for the agency.
  • Supports IT (Information Technology) procurement activities.
  • Works with IT leadership to maintain and document IT Budget and expenditures.
  • Provides support to SharePoint and MS Teams administrators.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Do you have experience in User training (technical support)?, Do you have a Master’s degree?, * Business Intelligence tools including but not limited to; Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, or SQL Reporting Services

  • Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, SharePoint, Word and Teams
  • eMARS Experience
  • Strong problem resolution skills
  • Detailed Oriented, EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree OR a graduate of a college or university with an associate’s degree in information technology (IT) or related field OR certification in an IT related field.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Six years of professional experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or database and reporting technologies.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master’s degree in computer science will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Two years of additional experience in data analysis, business intelligence, database and reporting technologies will substitute for the education requirement.
