Job description
A KDB+ Support Engineer is required to join MAPS Electronic Trading Data Services team in New York. This role supports multiple KDB+ Applications, built on BoA’s largest KDB+ implementation, servicing the Global Markets business across multiple asset classes.
KDB+ is a high-performance time-series database developed by KX Systems. It is designed to store, process, and analyze massive volumes of time-stamped data with extremely low latency. It is most widely used in:
- Investment banks
- Hedge funds
- High-frequency trading firms
- Market data providers
Requirements
Do you have experience in Real-time data processing implementation?, * The person hired for this role must have development or support experience on real-time KDB+ applications. . Any individual who cannot demonstrate 3 years development experience, must demonstrate completion of the Level 3 QDeveloper certification from KX (course). They should be sufficiently comfortable working in a Unix environment.
- At least 3 years of experience in a developing/supporting KDB+ applications or provide demonstrate completion of Level 3 QDeveloper certification from KX Academy
- Experience of the Q programming language
- Familiarity with real-time KDB+ applications process terabytes of data daily
- Excellent spoken and written communication to support users and collaborate with business and technology stakeholders
- Self-starter who can hit the ground running, leveraging AI and the wider team to help guide them where necessary
- Familiarity with ITIL approach to Incident, Problem, Change Management
- Working with Jira as a work management tool
