Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Drupal Developer to support the design, development, modernization, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance of enterprise-level web applications and content management platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Drupal architecture, custom module development, theme development, system integration, security compliance, accessibility, and production support in a federal or enterprise environment., The Senior Drupal Developer will work closely with project managers, business analysts, UX/UI designers, DevSecOps engineers, security teams, and government stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, accessible, and high-performing Drupal-based solutions., * Design, develop, configure, and maintain Drupal-based websites and applications.

  • Perform Drupal site building, custom module development, theme customization, and content type configuration.
  • Support Drupal upgrades, migrations, modernization, and enhancement activities.
  • Develop and maintain custom Drupal modules, APIs, views, workflows, taxonomies, and content models.
  • Integrate Drupal with third-party systems, databases, authentication services, and external APIs.
  • Support content publishing workflows, metadata tagging, search configuration, and user role management.
  • Ensure all development complies with Section 508, WCAG, USWDS, and applicable accessibility standards.
  • Implement secure coding practices and support vulnerability remediation, security scans, and ATO-related activities.
  • Collaborate with DevSecOps teams on code deployments, CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and environment support.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, performance problems, bugs, and user-reported defects.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, deployment guides, configuration notes, and knowledge-transfer materials.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers as needed.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Windows?, We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Drupal Developer with a strong foundation in system design, integration, implementation, and sustainment. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in managing and optimizing complex IT infrastructures, with a deep understanding of operating systems, networking, middleware, applications, databases, and security., * 7+ years of professional web development experience.

  • 5+ years of hands-on Drupal development experience, preferably with Drupal 9 and/or Drupal 10.
  • Strong experience with PHP, MySQL/MariaDB, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Twig, and Drupal APIs.
  • Experience developing custom Drupal modules, themes, content types, views, blocks, and taxonomies.
  • Experience with Composer, Drush, Git, configuration management, and Drupal deployment processes.
  • Strong understanding of Drupal security best practices, permissions, roles, caching, and performance optimization.
  • Experience supporting enterprise or federal websites with high availability and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility, WCAG standards, and responsive design.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across application, database, and hosting environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced Agile environment., * Experience supporting federal government clients is a plus.
  • Experience with Drupal migrations from legacy CMS platforms or earlier Drupal versions.
  • Experience with Acquia, Pantheon, AWS, Azure, or other cloud-hosted Drupal environments.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with REST APIs, JSON, SAML/OIDC, single sign-on, and secure authentication.
  • Experience with USWDS-based design systems and federal digital service standards.
  • Experience supporting ATO, FISMA, NIST 800-53, vulnerability remediation, and security documentation.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Agile/Scrum, and DevSecOps practices.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Work Environment

This position is remote. The candidate must be able to collaborate effectively with technical teams, client stakeholders, and project leadership.
