Job description

At VCI Construction, as an Manager Telecom, you will report directly to the Director of Operations. In this role, the ideal candidate will perform work that is responsible for overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the field units. The Operations Manager will carry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, while managing all operational aspects of the center., * Build strong client, excavator, and employee relationships.

  • Champion a robust safety culture.
  • Train Supervisors on KPIs and business drivers.
  • Ensure quality control through daily and weekly meetings.
  • Actively participate in forecasting and budgeting.
  • Minimize expenses, damages, and company liability risks.
  • Manage employee performance, reviews, and development.
  • Ensure compliance with government and safety regulations.
  • Represent the company at industry and community forums.
  • Investigate and resolve inter-departmental issues.
  • Implement policies and procedures with senior leadership.
  • Communicate performance metrics and expectations to field technicians.
  • Approve daily personnel time reports.
  • Boost employee engagement and morale.
  • Oversee and approve daily load management.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
  • Work independently with coworkers, customers, and others in places where interactions are unsupervised
  • Provide accurate and reliable information to others in the company
  • Requires a routine amount of driving for work, which must be performed safely
  • Requires safe and responsible computer and related technology use

Requirements

Do you have experience in Supervising experience?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * To be 18 years of age or older

  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency is required.
  • BS/BA degree preferred
  • 10 years of construction supervisory experience in similar underground construction technology minimum
  • Five (5) or more years of management and/or supervisory experience required.
  • Utility locating experience or related industry experience preferred.
  • Advanced technical skills with various computer applications and experience using Microsoft Office Suite preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently with attention to detail, individually and collaboratively in a team, meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and prioritize workflow
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals at all levels and areas within the organization
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment Exemplary communication skills with the ability to present and consult with all levels throughout financial and executive leadership Detail oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking skills

Additional qualifications

  • Must have 5 years management experience in underground and overhead construction.
  • Must pass extensive background investigation, DMV background and drug screen.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
