Job description

About the Role: A Geek To Go provides on-site and remote technical support, handling dispatch for new customers and managed service subscribers. This position is for an experienced, independent technical contractor looking for flexible, dispatched field assignments to supplement their existing schedule.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in macOS support?, OS & Hardware: Diagnostics and troubleshooting for Windows 10 and Windows 11, macOS releases from the past eight years, and iOS and Android versions from the past three years. Includes software-based repairs, system utilities, rebuilding/re-imaging, data recovery/hard drive pulling, and user profile transfers. This role does not handle component-level hardware repairs such as cracked screens or internal power supplies.

Productivity & Software Ecosystems: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace environments. Basic familiarity and troubleshooting knowledge of QuickBooks applications is helpful.

Network & Infrastructure: Intermediate networking skills supporting firewalls, routers, switches, patch panels, and Wi-Fi access points. Must be able to independently isolate connectivity issues and handle malware protection and removal.

Specialized Retail Systems: Experience with Point of Sale (POS) equipment deployment and basic retail tech configurations., * Minimum 3 years of professional IT support-related field experience; must own field tools including ethernet tester, console cable, drive chassis, laptop, and bootable diagnostics media.

  • Reliable vehicle, valid Driver’s License, and mobile phone required.
  • Dependability, promptness, professional appearance, and clear written communication are required. Availability needed during weekday business hours from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., with weekends as needed.
  • A clean criminal background check is required prior to final onboarding. Screening requirements will be provided during the selection process., * IT Support : 3 years (Required)

Additional Perks: Scale-based trip fees per dispatch ($15 - $30), a 15% upfront sales commission on the initial contract value of any monthly managed service subscriptions generated from field leads, and independent equipment recycling/retention options.

Payout: Compensation is issued via weekly direct electronic transfer upon invoice submission.
