Job description

We’re partnering closely with Racine Railroad Products as they continue their evolution from a traditional hardware manufacturer into a more software-driven organization. To support this growth, they have created a new Engineering Manager position to provide leadership, structure, and technical direction for their Embedded Systems Team (5) in Mount Pleasant, WI. This role will oversee the planning, development, testing, and delivery of embedded hardware and software initiatives across the company’s electro-hydraulic product portfolio. The Engineering Manager will lead a team responsible for embedded software, controls, vision systems, and hardware integration while helping establish best practices around project execution, software development, validation, and release management. Engineering Manager, Embedded Systems - Hardware & Software (manufacturing) Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of embedded software, vision systems, controls, and related hardware
  • Oversee a team of 5 engineers and the successful delivery of embedded systems project
  • Establish clear performance goals, mentor engineering team, and provide feedback
  • Manage project timelines, scope, resource planning, and change management
  • Partner with mechanical and electrical teams to ensure seamless system performance
  • Create and implement best practices for embedded software development
  • Develop and enforce a structured testing and release strategy
  • Define test cases, performance benchmarks, and failure criteria for validation processes
  • Implement a revision control system for software releases to support field reliability
  • Encourage a culture of responsibility, innovation, and continuous improvement

Requirements

Do you have experience in Systems integration?, * Strong background within systems engineering/systems integration required

  • People leadership experience within manufacturing required
  • Experience integrating software and hardware projects required
  • Hands-on coding (any language) experience is required, * people leadership : 2 years (Required)
  • systems engineering : 3 years (Required)
