Job description

The Information Systems Security Lead (ISSL) leads and executes Trident Research’s cybersecurity activities and manages a small number of classified and unclassified information systems, all associated with one program of record, as the designated Information System Security Manager (ISSM). The ISSL serves as the senior cybersecurity authority for the company and functions as the Team Lead for the Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO).

This is a technical leadership role, not a supervisory management position. The ISSL provides operational direction, task prioritization, technical oversight, and compliance accountability for cybersecurity personnel, while personnel administration and performance management remain under Corporate Services leadership.

The ISSL ensures compliance with NIST SP 800-171, CMMC Level 2, DCSA Assessment and Authorization Guide (DAAG), and NISPOM requirements across classified and unclassified systems and represents Trident Research to DCSA, customers, and auditors in all cybersecurity matters as the designated ISSM.

ISSO Leadership & Team Lead Responsibilities

  • Serve as functional Team Lead for: Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO)
  • Assign, prioritize, and coordinate cybersecurity, RMF, CUI, and infrastructure-related tasking across the team.
  • Provide technical direction and quality assurance review of all cybersecurity documentation, including: System Security Plans (SSPs), POA&Ms, eMASS entries, Incident reporting documentation, & CUI procedures and audit artifacts
  • Establish weekly cybersecurity synchronization meetings and maintain action tracking.
  • Mentor ISSO personnel in RMF execution, vulnerability response, audit readiness, and secure configuration management.
  • Provide technical oversight of server administration activities to ensure compliance with DAAG, NIST, and CMMC control requirements.
  • Approve security-relevant configuration changes prior to implementation.
  • Serve as escalation authority for cybersecurity incidents, vulnerabilities, and compliance risks.
  • Coordinate directly with the Facility Security Manager (FSM) regarding classified system matters and report cybersecurity risk posture to the Senior Management Official (SMO).
  • Conduct annual internal cybersecurity readiness reviews and prepare team for DCSA and CMMC assessments.
  • Represent Trident Research in weekly calls with the customer cybersecurity team and drive, * Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).; and other leading security publications)
  • Participates in the development, support, and implementation of the security education program
  • Knowledge and understanding of information management concepts and application to security-in-depth
  • Assist with administration of company controlled unclassified information (CUI) processes and compliance
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills, with a demonstrated ability to understand and implement security standards and draft clear, concise procedural and programmatic documentation
  • Works with the Facility Security Manager (FSM) and Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) on classified information systems security-related matters for Trident (including vulnerabilities, reportable incidents, and recommendations for improvements).
  • Provide functional reporting to the Project and Program Managers
  • Ensures that periodic self-inspections of the security program is being conducted and corrective action is taken for all identified findings and vulnerabilities, which are reported to the Senior Management Official (SMO).

Pay: $115,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year

Requirements

Do you have experience in Risk management framework?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Demonstrated knowledge and experience in secure network protocols, firewalls, secure hardware and software solutions, etc.

  • Familiarity with a wide range of operating systems (Windows, Mac, Linux) and system configurations
  • Familiarity with relevant cybersecurity guidance (e.g. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-171; 32 C.F.R. 117 National Industrial, * Bachelor’s (Required)

Experience:

  • cybersecurity or information systems: 7 years (Required)

License/Certification:

  • DoD 8140 Cyber Workforce Intermediate Certification (Required)
  • DoD 8140 Advanced Certification (Preferred)
