Job description

GENERAL DUTIES: A Computer Operator III works under the direction of a supervisor to monitor and operate either network server-based programs or programs on a local PC including Microsoft Office applications as well as Job Order Cost Accounting System (JOCAS), Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS), Range Maintenance Module and other locally developed systems; uses established databases and reports in accordance with established instructions to process data in support of an Air Force directed contractor operated Vehicle Maintenance & Ground Support Equipment Maintenance facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Work is characterized by the following (not all inclusive):

  • Works in a networked data environment
  • Operates DPAS, JOCAS and Range Maintenance Module
  • Opens/closes repair work orders, inputs miles and parts cost information in DPAS
  • Monitors vehicle and equipment scheduled maintenance and schedules work load
  • Maintains Air Force owned vehicle and equipment historical files
  • Collects and enters data to include fuel and mileage from external organizations
  • Runs specialized data processing applications
  • Files or assists in digitizing documents as needed
  • Utilizes Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint
  • Conducts clerical functions; maintain personnel files, in/out processes employees
  • Documents contract personnel driver qualifications and issues operator permits
  • Conducts yard checks to reconcile vehicles & equipment in shop reports

A Computer Operator III will process data daily into various networked databases including but not limited to DPAS, JOCAS and the Range Maintenance Module. Assist the supervisor in DPAS work order processing and maintaining historical files. Receives licensing documentation for contract employees, inputs into the operator qualification tracking system and issues locally developed operator permits to employees. Receives fuel receipts for government owned vehicles and equipment and inputs into JOCAS for reporting purposes. Facilitates on-boarding for new employees by scheduling virtual appointments with the company insurance provider, providing and collecting documentation and establish and maintain personnel files in a secure manner. Individual will need to be self-motivated and able to work on their own with little guidance but also be able to work as part of a team to complete various tasks.

OTHER DUTIES: Accomplish and maintain recurring training requirements. Perform general housekeeping duties in assigned work areas such as office trash removal, dusting and general cleaning as required to maintain office cleanliness. Accomplishes other administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Computer operation?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be a high school graduate with a minimum of two years applicable experience and or training and education in computer related environment. Solid administrative and organizational skills are a must. Experience in DPAS, JOCAS, Range Maintenance Module and Microsoft Office as well as advanced skill in Microsoft Access are highly sought after but not a mandatory requirement. Applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis depending on the highly sought after skills. Training in some areas may require travel to accomplish.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Secret security clearance. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Supports E-OMS operational objectives; observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work activities will normally be performed in a well-lit environmentally controlled atmosphere. Office space is located directly adjacent to an industrial vehicle maintenance floor where heavy equipment and loud noises are prevalent. Use of applicable personal protective equipment such as hearing protection and steel toed shoes may be required based on assigned duties. Occasional walking inside and outside will be required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Will be subject to substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must have good visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures on both paper and computer monitors; requires very little lifting or moving of heavy objects or materials. In addition, yard checks inside and outside will require the ability to traverse for periods of 15-30 mins over concrete, asphalt and loose dirt surfaces over mostly level ground.
