Job description
The Senior Cloud Engineer plays a key role within the Cloud Hosting Services team, responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud infrastructure and services. This role focuses on building secure, scalable, reliable, and cost-effective cloud solutions-primarily in Microsoft Azure, but also involving other cloud platforms as needed. The candidate will possess strong hands-on experience with cloud architecture, automation, DevOps, governance, and operational excellence.
How You Will Contribute:
- Lead the design and deployment of secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure on Azure and other cloud platforms.
- Manage full lifecycle cloud migration projects, including assessment, planning, execution, testing, and optimization of workloads moving to Azure.
- Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure that aligns with best practices for performance, resilience, and cost-efficiency.
- Design and manage CI/CD pipelines; automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform or Bicep.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and tools; contribute to the development of the enterprise cloud roadmap by aligning solutions with business objectives.
- Define and enforce cloud security and governance frameworks, including RBAC, IAM, policy compliance, and industry standards.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, high-level designs (HLDs), and KB articles.
- Drive disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity strategy using Azure Site Recovery and Backup
- Conduct cost analysis, budgeting, and optimization of cloud spend using tools like Azure Cost Management and Advisor.
- Collaborate with operations and support teams to ensure seamless service transitions; provide knowledge transfer, runbooks, and training sessions.
Requirements
- 10 + years’ experience in system including 5+ years in cloud engineering and infrastructure roles.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python.
- Experience with automation tools like Terraform, Bicep, or Azure DevOps.
- Solid understanding of Azure Infrastructure Service, cloud security, networking, IAM, and governance
- Familiarity with cloud cost optimization and monitoring tools
- Experience with monitoring and alerting frameworks
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information systems, computer science, business administration or related field
- Microsoft Certification(s)
