Senior Software Engineer, Spam and Abuse, AI/ML

As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google’s various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user’s interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $174000 - $253000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefits, * Lead the technical roadmap for user understanding and modeling.

• Design and train sophisticated user reputation and risk models to identify spammers among billions of users, both before and after they are onboard.
• Develop the continuous training and deployment infrastructure to build, deploy, and monitor ML models.
• Design, implement and launch highly scalable serving infrastructure to enable real time spammer detection and rapid enforcement.
• Design and implement extensible APIs to integrate our anti-abuse systems with other Google systems and external telecom partners for signal ingestion and verdict sharing.

Do you have experience in System design for system development?, Do you have a Master’s degree?, * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• 3 years of experience with one or more of the following: speech/audio (e.g., technology duplicating and responding to the human voice), reinforcement learning (e.g., sequential decision making), ML infrastructure, or specialization in another ML field.
• 3 years of experience with ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, optimization, data processing, debugging)., * Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience using SQL to analyze complex datasets and extract business insights.
• Experience designing, implementing, and scaling large-scale distributed systems in a production environment.
