Job description

The Network Administrator reports to the Director, Managed Services and works directly with customers to provide day-to-day network administration and troubleshooting support. This position also occasionally participates in other areas and projects, such as circuit activations, managed services on-boarding, and performing configurations, installations, and upgrades on customer contracts., + Serve as a direct point of contact for customer, service provider and internal staff interaction.

  • Monitor and maintain operating systems, network configurations, software applications, and hardware.
  • Administer and monitor system availability and performance tools.
  • Add and enhance monitoring objects for SNMPC and various systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.
  • Solve or document and further escalated issues as needed.
  • Update and create internal articles and/or documentation.
  • Work closely with internal and external customers.
  • Trouble shoot equipment connectivity and perform layer 1-3 troubleshooting.
  • Perform loop testing to determine and isolate problems on the path.
  • Provide technical support to internal staff as well as external customers.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Customer communication?, + Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Able to work independently and within a customer oriented, positive team environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently, work independently and/or as a part of a team.
  • Able to learn and adapt to new technologies through self-directed training.
  • Ability to interact with clients in a professional, articulate manner.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills., * 3+ years of progressively responsible, hands-on operations experience in a high availability network and data center environment.
  • SQL Server administration and/or management experience.
  • Significant experience with IIS, Active Directory, Windows networking administration, and knowledge of web technologies.
  • Linux administration.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Windows operating systems for servers and workstations, including Windows Server 2008.
  • VB and batch scripting experience.
  • Working Knowledge and Understanding of DNS.

Certifications:

  • Networking, Microsoft, and VMWare certification preferred.
