Job description

We are hiring an AI Engineer for a hands-on production build role - not research, not prototyping. You will work directly with the Claude API, Python, and SQL Server to design, ship, and maintain internal automation and AI tooling. You will partner closely with our CIO and own a delegated workstream with real autonomy, * Build and maintain production AI tooling and automation - durable systems, not one-off prototypes.

  • Move data reliably between sources, applications, and SQL Server.
  • Write efficient, scalable Python code to integrate AI with existing systems and databases.
  • Utilize SQL to manage and query data for AI applications.
  • Bring engineering rigor and guardrails to AI running in a regulated, PHI-sensitive environment.
  • Ensure all solutions adhere to relevant industry regulations, such as HIPAA.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify automation needs and refine agent requirements.
  • Document technical processes, code, and workflows for maintainability.

Requirements

Do you have experience in SQL?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 3+ years of experience in Python development for AI or automation projects.
  • 2+ years of experience with SQL for data management and querying.
  • Claude API / AI engineering - core
  • Hands-on experience with the Claude API: prompt design, structured (JSON) output, document and PDF inputs, and handling multi-block responses.
  • Experience building LLM-powered document generation from structured inputs
  • Experience parsing PDFs and documents into structured data
  • Familiarity with agentic workflows and their application in automation.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance in data-sensitive industries (e.g., healthcare).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders., * Familiarity with automation or AI solutions in healthcare or similar industries.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g.,Azure) for solution deployment.
  • Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git).
