Job description

Client is seeking a highly skilled Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) Architect to design, implement, and optimize cloud solutions that align with business and technical requirements. The architect will play a pivotal role in driving cloud adoption, ensuring scalability, security, and operational excellence across Cisco’s enterprise applications and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture & Design
Define and implement Google Cloud Platform-based architectures for enterprise workloads.
Develop scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud solutions.
Lead migration strategies from on-premises or other cloud platforms to Google Cloud Platform.

Solution Delivery

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (network, security, DevOps, application teams).
Provide technical leadership during design, development, and deployment phases.
Ensure compliance with Cisco’s cloud governance and security standards.

Optimization & Innovation

Drive automation using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Deployment Manager).

Implement CI/CD pipelines for cloud-native applications.

Recommend best practices for performance tuning, monitoring, and cost optimization.

Stakeholder Engagement

Act as a trusted advisor to business and IT stakeholders.

Document architecture decisions, standards, and guidelines.

Conduct workshops and training sessions for engineering teams.

Requirements

Technical Expertise
Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services (Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, IAM).
Proficiency in cloud networking, security, and identity management.
Experience with hybrid/multi-cloud architectures.

Tools & Frameworks

Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Cloud Build).
Monitoring tools (Stackdriver, Prometheus, Grafana).

Professional Background

10+ years of IT experience with at least 4+ years in cloud architecture.
Prior experience in large-scale enterprise environments.
Google Cloud Platform Professional Cloud Architect certification strongly preferred.

Preferred Attributes

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to lead technical discussions and influence decision-making.
Passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
Experience working in highly regulated industries (finance, telecom, public sector) is a plus.
