Job description

A chemical manufacturing company is seeking a Innovation Data Analyst to support the market analysis team located in The Woodlands. This role supports the execution of established data reporting, preparation, and maintenance activities for innovation-related business processes. The position focuses on delivering accurate, timely, and consistent outputs aligned to defined workflows and existing data governance standards. The role does not include responsibility for designing new analytics methodologies, systems, or strategies. Instead, this person will be responsible for the execution of recurring reporting processes including data extraction, validation, and report generation in addition to performing data preparation, cleansing, and alignment using established tools, templates, and methods. They will conduct quality checks to ensure data accuracy and consistency across datasets, maintain datasets and support updates for reporting tools, refresh reporting outputs and verify expected results, and identify and escalate data issues, inconsistencies and anomalies. They will also be supporting the execution of predefined backlog and reporting enhancement tasks and will be responsible for documenting outputs.

Requirements

3-5 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or operational analytics roles

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data handling)
  • Experience working with enterprise data systems (e.g., SAP or similar ERP platforms)
  • Basic working knowledge of SQL or similar query logic
  • Experience executing structured, repeatable data workflows with high attention to detail
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools, preferably Power BI
  • Ability to follow defined processes and adhere to data governance standards
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders

Benefits & conditions

This is long term contract role paying in a range of $43-$45/hr dependent upon tenure., Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
