Job description
- Design, implement, troubleshoot, analyze, and maintain network infrastructure at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY.
- Configure, test, and maintain LAN/WAN/DMZ/Wireless networks and related services.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve network issues promptly to ensure optimal performance.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all network configurations, applications, and appliances.
- Assist in designing, planning, and establishing wireless networks including Aruba architecture and network access control.
- Manage firewall and VPN configurations, perform security analyses, and utilize network security tools.
- Utilize MS Server Active Directory and Group Policy Management for network administration.
- Develop PowerShell scripts for automation and management tasks.
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 resolution support in Windows Server and Windows 11 environments.
- Collaborate with team members to drive efforts that improve product quality, reduce expenses, and increase organizational productivity.
Requirements
Security Clearance: Public Trust (Candidate must be a U.S. citizen or green card holder residing in the U.S. for at least 3 years, with the ability to obtain a public trust clearance), * BA, BBA, BS degree in a relevant field
- Minimum of 5 years specialized network engineering experience in government or structured environments
- Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, or ITIL v3 (minimum one)
- Experience configuring Cisco switches and routers
- Experience designing, planning, and optimizing wireless networks, including Aruba architecture
- Knowledge of Nutanix Prism, Acropolis hypervisor management
- Firewall and VPN configuration, management, and analysis skills
- Experience with network access security tools
- Proficiency with MS Server Active Directory and Group Policy Management
- PowerShell scripting and automation experience
- Ability to provide Level 2 and Level 3 support in Windows Server and Windows 11 environments
- Strong communication skills and documentation abilities
