Job description

The Installation Technician requires excellent customer service skills and technical ability. The position requires completing customer installations, service visits, on-site troubleshooting, and recovery of equipment. Work is performed on site at customer locations both with a physical aspect of installing Internet equipment, as well as a technical portion of updating databases., Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Perform site surveys for potential customers to evaluate serviceability.
  • Diagnose customer problems at service calls and restore functional service to existing customers.
  • Install new customers with Internet service based on technology available, which includes mounting equipment at or above roof height, running Cat5-E or Fiber Optic cable from outside to the customer’s desired location.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Hand tools?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * Must be professional in dress, speech, and manner.

  • Ability to work independently, using sound judgment principles.
  • Must demonstrate a desire to learn, supported with a love for technology.
  • Must pass a drug screening test and a criminal background check.
  • Must be able to use tools to install equipment.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Work Environment/Hazards:

  • Working in outdoor elements such as cold, hot, precipitation and wind
  • Working in elevated places such as towers

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently moving, transporting, positioning objects of at least 60 pounds or more
  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffoldings, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms
  • Must be able to climb roof tops of all types and to perform job duties from high places.
  • Frequently required to use hand and power tools
  • Must have the ability to climb extended heights upwards of 200 feet
  • Employee weight and tools combines may not exceed 300-pound limit as specified by the manufacturer of safety equipment., * Driver’s License (Required)
