Job description

Do you have a passion for storytelling, digital design, and creating meaningful human-centered experiences? Mercy Ships is seeking a creative and strategically minded UX/UI Designer to help shape our employer brand and talent experience. In this role, you will apply your design expertise to elevate how candidates, volunteers, and employees interact with our brand across digital platforms. This is a unique opportunity to bring human-centered design into the world of talent marketing, careers content, and employee engagement-supporting a mission with eternal impact. This position collaborates closely with Talent Acquisition, Marketing, and People teams to create compelling, on-brand digital journeys that reflect who we are and the life-changing work we do.

How You’ll Contribute

  • Design and optimize digital experiences for career sites, internal portals, recruitment campaigns, onboarding platforms, and volunteer web experiences.
  • Maintain and develop the Volunteer Website in WordPress, creating engaging, informative pages and integrating with other systems where necessary.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, Marketing, and People teams to craft compelling candidate and employee journeys aligned with Mercy Ships’ mission and brand.
  • Develop wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes that effectively communicate our talent story.
  • Apply UX research and data insights to refine content strategy, navigation, accessibility, and conversion pathways.
  • Support the visual design of career-related social media posts, email campaigns, and employer brand assets.
  • Maintain and evolve the employer brand design system, ensuring visual and experiential consistency across platforms.
  • Contribute to the development of inclusive, accessible digital experiences that reflect our values and culture.
  • Ensure all digital touchpoints align with Mercy Ships’ Core Values, Code of Conduct, and policies.

Requirements

Do you have experience in WordPress?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Demonstrates strong creative and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate brand vision into engaging digital experiences.

  • Possesses a deep understanding of UX principles, responsive design, accessibility standards (WCAG), and user-centered design methodology.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing web, mobile, and brand-focused design projects.
  • Advanced WordPress skills with working knowledge of HTML/CSS and CMS platforms.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Webflow, or similar design platforms.
  • Experience integrating websites with systems such as Salesforce and Pardot to enhance user experience.
  • Ability to communicate design rationale clearly and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively across departments and cultures.
  • Passion for storytelling, people-centric design, and building purpose-driven brand experiences.
  • Supportive of Mercy Ships’ mission and vision and committed to its core values.
  • Understands and applies servant leadership, works collaboratively with integrity, and demonstrates accountability., * Bachelor’s degree in UX/UI Design, Graphic Design, Digital Media, Human-Computer Interaction, Marketing, Website Development or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in UX/UI design, product design, visual design, digital experience design, or website development.
  • Experience working on career websites, ATS integrations, recruitment marketing, or employer branding initiatives preferred.
  • Familiarity with content strategy, SEO principles, and performance analytics tools preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

**Compensation Range for This Position Is $62,000- $67,000 This is a full-time, REMOTE position that requires international travel.
