Job description

The Vice President of IT is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the Mears IT department, including ERP and Business Intelligence systems, Helpdesk, Infrastructure, Security, Development, and Field Operations technology. This role sets IT strategy, aligns the team to deliver on that strategy, and ensures high levels of user satisfaction across office and field locations. The VP of IT will also spearhead initiatives to leverage AI-driven solutions for process automation and efficiency, and lead the ongoing development and implementation of our digital field ticketing solution to streamline operational workflows. Collaboration with Quanta Services’ shared IT resources is essential, requiring strong partnership and communication skills. This position is based in our Englewood CO office., * Collaborate with senior executives to develop short- and long-term IT strategies aligned with business objectives.

  • Build and execute the IT systems roadmap, supporting the company’s digital transformation journey.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify technology solutions that drive growth, reduce complexity, and eliminate waste.
  • AI & Automation Initiatives
  • Identify and implement AI-driven tools to automate repetitive processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop predictive analytics capabilities to support decision-making and cost optimization.
  • Champion innovation by integrating emerging technologies that enhance productivity and user experience.
  • Field Operations Technology
  • Lead the design enhancements and ongoing deployment of our field ticketing solution to improve real-time data capture, accuracy, and reporting for field teams.
  • Ensure seamless integration of field technology with ERP and other core systems.
  • Governance& Compliance
  • Oversee data governance, SOX compliance, and internal controls, leveraging automation to streamline compliance processes.
  • Collaborate with Quanta cybersecurity teams to strengthen security and resiliency across IT infrastructure.
  • Infrastructure & Cloud Strategy
  • Drive initiatives toward cost-effective cloud adoption in partnership with Quanta.
  • Maintain robust infrastructure and ensure high availability of critical systems.
  • Budget & Resource Management
  • Develop and manage annual Opex and Capex budgets for IT, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain top technical talent to build a high-performing IT organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Data-driven problem-solving?, * 15+ years of IT leadership experience in organizations of similar size and complexity.

  • Proven track record for reducing costs while providing innovative business solutions
  • Proven track record in developing and deploying advanced OT.
  • Proven track record in digital transformation, AI implementation, and process automation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a shared services environment.
  • Construction industry experience is a plus but not required.
  • Collaborative and service-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent execution capabilities.
  • Skilled communicator-clear, articulate, and persuasive.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to work extended hours as needed
  • Physical activity and work environment required for role
  • Sitting, walking and standing for extended periods in an office environment
  • Occasional travel (20-40%)
  • Manual dexterity for paperwork and computer use
  • Lift up to 20lb occasionally
