Job description
Our client seeks a Software Architect III to design and deliver secure, scalable cloud-native web application platforms on AWS. You will own end-to-end architecture from Terraform-provisioned infrastructure and GitLab CI/CD pipelines to AI-powered integrations that improve developer productivity. You will partner with the director of data platforms and principal development leads to enhance in-house solutions, assess ETL and reporting tooling, and lead AI integration strategy by embedding LLM-based capabilities, intelligent automation, and security-first practices including least-privilege IAM, automated patching, and encryption by default., * Own architecture for cloud-native web applications on AWS, emphasizing security and scalability.
- Design infrastructure-as-code with Terraform and implement GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Lead AI integration strategy, evaluating and embedding LLM-based tooling and intelligent automation.
- Partner with leadership and principal engineers to evolve custom in-house software solutions.
- Assess and recommend tooling for ETL and reporting systems.
- Implement least-privilege IAM, automated vulnerability patching, and encryption-by-default patterns.
- Support EKS, serverless patterns, and platform engineering best practices.
- Establish monitoring and operational readiness with solutions such as Datadog.
Requirements
Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance., * Object-oriented full-stack programming experience in languages such as Java, Python, or Go.
- Background in full-stack cloud-based web application development, systems, and design.
- Hands-on AWS cloud-native integrations and solutions.
- Proficiency with Terraform.
- Preferred: Go and multi-threaded applications.
- Preferred: Data lakes, data warehouses, and big data processing such as Spark.
- Preferred: EKS platforms and Argo CD.
- Preferred: Python or Java for backend services.
- Preferred: Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog.

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
