Job description

Individuals in this position will be responsible for development, database administration, data retrieval, and analysis of queries within the organization. A significant portion of time is spent building internal customer relationships, developing queries, reports, and scripts that meet the business needs of the Cooperative, as well as assisting in the administration of the Cooperative’s broad datasets. Work requires broad information technology skills and specialization in at least two of the following areas: business intelligence, database management, development of applications and interfaces. Work is performed under the general direction of the assigned ICT Supervisor or Manager who reviews work performed based on the Essential Job Functions. All employees are expected to demonstrate cooperation in working with others, deal effectively with members and practice safety consciousness.) * Query Design and Performance Optimization. Develops and maintains database queries using multiple query languages employed by the Cooperative. Analyzes and optimizes queries to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and optimal performance while adhering to data governance and security standards.

  • Business Intelligence (BI) Reporting. Collaborates with business stakeholders to define reporting and analytical requirements. Determines appropriate reporting and visualization methods, develops BI solutions, and provides ongoing support and refinement of those solutions over time.
  • Interface Development. Develops and supports data integrations and interfaces between enterprise applications, databases, and external data sources. Works with cyber security, technical and application teams to ensure integrations are secure, reliable, and aligned with architectural standards.
  • Database Administration. Administers, monitors, and maintains on-premise and cloud-based databases and data platforms. Supports data integrity, performance, availability, and compliance with security and data protection requirements.
  • Solution Development. Designs and implements custom BI solutions, data processes, applications, and automations to improve operational efficiency and support business objectives, following established change management and release practices.
  • Application, BI, and Data Support. Provides advanced support for BI, data, and analytics solutions, resolving issues escalated from frontline support. Serves as a backup for frontline support as needed to ensure continuity of service.
  • Communications. Serves as a liaison between business users, technical users, and vendors. Communicates technical concepts, data insights, and solution impacts in a clear and practical manner appropriate to the audience.
  • Technical Documentation. Creates and maintains technical documentation for BI solutions, reports, interfaces, data processes, and automations. Provides subject-matter input and knowledge transfer to designated training and documentation resources to ensure end-user materials accurately reflect implemented solutions.
  • Safety. Practices safe work habits in the performance of all job duties and is familiar with and follows those portions of the Cooperative Safety Manual that pertain to the position.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in XML?, This position requires a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a major in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Business or a related field, plus two (2) years of business intelligence, database administration or applications development experience. Substitution: Related experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. CompTIA Data+ or Microsoft Fundamentals certification is preferred. Individuals in this position must maintain a valid State of Florida driver’s license. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Skilled in the use of Microsoft Productivity Applications (Word, Excel, Access, Visio, Teams) Skilled in common query languages (T-SQL, PL/SQL, PostgreSQL). Skilled in BI and reporting tools such as Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services, and Crystal Reports. Working knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools and practices (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Synapse Pipelines). Working knowledge of scripting, automation, and low/no-code development tools (Power Platform, PowerShell, Python, etc.). Working knowledge of enterprise application interfaces (REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, CSV). Working knowledge of database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL). Working knowledge of application development using Low/No-Code platforms or traditional programming languages (Microsoft Power Apps, C# .NET, and Python). Working knowledge of database structure and design, such as relation, non-relational, OLAP, etc. Working knowledge of data protection and privacy best practices. Ability to communicate technical information clearly to business users, technical peers and vendors. Ability to work independently while adhering to governance, security, and change control standards. Ability to manage multiple concurrent requests or projects with competing priorities. Ability to distinguish between and communicate with a user, application, database, or system level event or action. Requires availability to work outside of normal business hours to meet deadlines and to respond to critical system-down situations. Requires working an after-hours support rotation for critical help desk and system incidents.
