Job description

The Database Developer will:

  • Analyze business requirements and perform database design activities in coordination with business users, software developers, and other application developers.
  • Develop complex SQL stored procedures in support of the Orbit application.
  • Develop enhancements and new functionality using the SQL Server product stack.
  • Guide the development activities of junior developers and provide coaching and mentoring to improve their SQL skills.
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend new technologies for incorporation into the ORBIT architecture.
  • Conduct peer review and testing of application database changes.
  • Provide operational support and address incidents impacting ORBIT system operations.

Requirements

  • Experience with analyzing and solving complex problems.
  • Ability to interact and serve as a technical resource to developers.
  • High technical knowledge of application systems analysis and programming.
  • In-Depth experience developing complex queries and stored procedures using T-SQL including large and complex data sets.
  • In-Depth experience in refining complex queues and performance tuning.
  • Ability to investigate, research and implement new technologies in a specialty or related area.
  • Ability to recommend methods of resolving problems and to consult with clients on issues and requests that require the implementation or creation of a custom solution.
  • Planning and organization of day-to-day work of other developers and/or analysts.
  • Ability to interact with and serve as a key resource in solving problems of high complexity to other analyst developers and customer base.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Math, or Engineering or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in business application consulting or development;
  • Bachelor’s degree with some computer coursework from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in business applications consulting or development
