Job description

We are seeking an experienced Data QA Engineer with a strong background in the Healthcare Payer domain to lead data quality assurance initiatives across enterprise data platforms. This role requires expertise in healthcare data, HEDIS reporting, CMS interoperability standards (FHIR), and modern Azure-based data engineering environments.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating complex data pipelines, implementing automated testing frameworks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, reliable data solutions., Data Testing & Validation

  • Design and execute test plans, test cases, and automated testing solutions for ELT/ETL pipelines.
  • Validate healthcare payer datasets including claims, membership, provider, and clinical data.
  • Perform FHIR API testing to support CMS interoperability requirements.
  • Validate HEDIS measures and healthcare quality reporting data.

QA Automation & Framework Development

  • Develop and implement data quality automation strategies for Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
  • Create reusable test frameworks and integrate automated testing into CI/CD processes.
  • Automate data validation, schema checks, reconciliation processes, and business rule testing.

CI/CD & Data Pipeline Quality

  • Build and maintain Azure DevOps pipelines with automated quality gates.
  • Implement automated monitoring and validation for data workflows and deployments.
  • Support continuous testing practices across cloud-based data platforms.

Technical Leadership

  • Partner with Data Engineers, Architects, Product Owners, and Business Stakeholders to ensure end-to-end data quality.
  • Build scalable automation frameworks using Python, PySpark, and SQL.
  • Investigate and resolve data quality issues while promoting best practices.
  • Mentor junior QA team members and provide technical guidance.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure data quality processes comply with HIPAA, CMS, and healthcare industry standards.
  • Support data governance initiatives including lineage, traceability, and audit readiness.
  • Document testing processes, validation results, and compliance evidence.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Team leadership?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • 8+ years of Data QA, Data Testing, or Data Validation experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience within the Healthcare Payer industry.
  • Strong experience with Azure Databricks, including Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables, Workflows, and Unity Catalog.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), pipeline development, monitoring, and CI/CD integration.
  • Advanced skills in Python, PySpark, and SQL.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and automated testing frameworks.
  • Knowledge of data governance, PII compliance, and enterprise data quality frameworks.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with HL7/FHIR healthcare data models.
  • Knowledge of Lakehouse architecture and Medallion design patterns.
  • Experience validating reporting data using Power BI or Tableau.
  • Familiarity with data governance platforms such as Collibra.
  • Experience building automated regression testing frameworks for data platforms.
