Job description

All Points is seeking a Systems Engineer III to support NASA’s Office of Strategic Infrastructure (OSI), Facilities and Real Estate Division (FRED) IT environment. This role supports enterprise infrastructure operations leveraging Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Linux-based systems in a secure and highly available environment. This is a Federal Contract, and U.S. Citizenship is required. Applicants who do not meet this requirement will not be considered.

This is a location-restricted remote position. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of a NASA facility to be eligible.

The selected candidate will support the design, implementation, integration, and sustainment of enterprise systems hosted on a containerized OpenShift platform, ensuring system performance, scalability, security, and operational reliability. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Administer and maintain Red Hat OpenShift clusters, including deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Perform advanced Linux system administration, including scripting, performance tuning, and system optimization
  • Manage Kubernetes environments, including cluster resources (nodes, pods, services, policies)
  • Support infrastructure components including DNS, load balancers, routing, and firewall configurations
  • Perform backup, disaster recovery (DR), patching, and system upgrades
  • Implement and maintain monitoring and observability using Prometheus and Grafana
  • Support centralized logging and integration with Splunk
  • Perform vulnerability remediation, system hardening, and security compliance tasks
  • Manage certificates, PKI, and TLS/SSL configurations
  • Administer user access and enforce least-privilege security controls
  • Support automation efforts using scripting and configuration management tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support enterprise infrastructure operations
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across the environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, * Minimum 8+ years of relevant systems engineering experience, Required:
  • Strong experience with Red Hat OpenShift administration (cluster management, deployments, troubleshooting)
  • Advanced Linux system administration experience
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration
  • Experience with containerized environments and enterprise deployments
  • Experience with Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security (ACS)
  • Experience with IBM Storage Fusion or similar storage/backup platforms
  • Knowledge of networking concepts including DNS, load balancing, routing, and firewall rules
  • Experience with TLS/SSL certificate management and PKI
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
  • Experience with centralized logging tools such as Splunk
  • Proficiency in scripting/automation (e.g., Python)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues

Desired:

  • Experience with SQL, reporting tools (Cognos, BIRT, Power BI)
  • Experience with ETL or data integration tools (e.g., Talend)
  • Knowledge of NIST, FISMA, or federal compliance frameworks
  • Experience with IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) or TRIRIGA
  • Familiarity with VMware or NetApp environments
  • Experience supporting large-scale federal facilities, asset, or real estate systems

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Red Hat OpenShift Administration certification required; or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire

SECURITY CLEARANCE:

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a NASA Public Trust / badging clearance

Benefits & conditions

~$110,000 - $125,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
