Solution Architect

Responsible for owning, defining, governing and documenting architecture strategies and standards and technology roadmaps for the assigned business vertical. Drives and develops the Solution Architecture Strategy deliverables for the associted business verticals inlcuding the following elements: Business Context Strategies, Business Architecture including documenting business functions and associated business workflows. Collaborates directly with other members of client services, business partners, Enterprise Architects, strategic vendors and all areas of IT. An expert in the field, uses professional concepts in developing resolution to critical issues and broad design matters.

· Reports to Vertical Manager

· Dotted line into CTO or Director of Archtitecture

· In some cases , role may be serviced from Enterprise Architecture with direct report to CTO

· No direct reports

· Develop Solution Architecture and technology roadmaps for business vertical

· Participate in business and technology planning sessions and anticipate future business/technology changes

· Work with Business Partners and Enterprise Architecture to review business drivers, needs, and strategies and understand implications to the application architecture

· Establish criteria and perform technology evaluations, including analysis and proof of concept along with supporting analysis and documentation

· Communicate implications of architectural decisions, issues, and plans to business and vertical leadership

· Provide input to the development of project initiation documents including objectives, scope, approach, and deliverables, when needed

· Provide support and guidance to the development teams during the analysis, development, and testing processes

· Provide subject matter expertise of application architecture, and consult business and technology teams when application architecture knowledge is needed

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience

· 13+ years application architecture experience for large (>30 man/month) projects

· 5+ years of experience in relevant business area

· Strong experience and exposure to solution architecture, design, development, and execution

· Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization

· Familiarity and understanding of application platforms
