Job description
Technology Architects is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to serve as the technical cornerstone of our managed security practice. This is a high-impact, client-facing role that blends deep technical expertise with strong communication skills - you’ll lead engagements, drive security strategy implementation, and represent our capabilities directly to clients and prospects.
In this role, you’ll operate across the full spectrum of our security stack as well as participating in incident response and mentoring junior engineers. Just as critical as your technical depth is your ability to communicate clearly with clients, translate complex security concepts for non-technical stakeholders, and support sales efforts with credible, confident expertise.
Key Responsibilities
TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP
- Serve as the security technical lead for the managed services team
- Maintain proficiency across core security products and platforms in our portfolio
- Lead security projects end-to-end: scoping, planning, and execution
- Serve as a cybersecurity escalation point for Level 1 and Level 2 technicians
CLIENT & OPERATIONS
- Manage tactical client communications related to security posture, incidents, and recommendations
- Perform hands-on, tactical client security work across engagements
- Lead and execute security audits for client environments
- Assist with monitoring and managing the service board, ensuring timely response and resolution
INCIDENT RESPONSE
- Serve as Incident Response Team member for client security events
- Develop, document, and maintain incident response playbooks and procedures
SALES ENGINEERING
- Support the sales team with tactical security expertise during pre-sales and scoping conversations
- Articulate technical security value to prospective clients in clear, compelling terms
- Assist in crafting proposals, solutions, and security assessments for new business
Requirements
Do you have experience in Zero Trust security?, * 3 or more years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, preferably in a managed services or consulting environment
- Previous experience with system administration/IT engineering a plus
- In-depth knowledge of security architecture, defense-in-depth, and Zero Trust
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and non-technical client stakeholders
- Experience executing and completing security projects and managing client relationships
- Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel)
- Proficiency with EDR/XDR platforms (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Microsoft Defender)
- Strong understanding of security frameworks (NIST CSF, CIS Controls, ISO 27001)
CERTIFICATIONS (REQUIRED)
- CompTIA CySA+, SecurityX (CASP+) or equivalent advanced security certification
SOFT SKILLS - CRITICAL TO SUCCESS
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain risk and technical findings clearly
- Comfort presenting to clients, executives, and prospects
- Strong ownership mindset: self-directed, accountable, and responsive under pressure
- Collaborative team player who elevates the capabilities of the broader security team
