Job description

Relate Search has partnered with an HVAC distribution and e-commerce organization in their search for an AI Database Engineer to support a critical product data and automation initiative. This consultant will be responsible for designing a scalable product information database and developing AI-driven solutions to automate the collection, matching, and enrichment of HVAC product data from leading OEM manufacturers., * Design and develop a normalized relational database structure to support HVAC product information, attributes, descriptions, and manufacturer relationships.

  • Create and manage interconnected database tables, entity relationships, primary keys, and foreign key structures that support scalable product data management.
  • Architect and implement an Agentic AI solution capable of collecting product information from OEM websites.
  • Develop automated processes to extract, transform, validate, and populate product specifications and attribute data into the database.
  • Build matching and reconciliation logic between internal ERP product records and OEM product information.
  • Establish data models that support advanced product search, filtering, and e-commerce functionality.
  • Recommend best practices for product information management (PIM), data governance, and ongoing data maintenance.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating in a highly autonomous environment, defining the technical approach, and delivering a practical, scalable solution.

This is a flexible, remote contract opportunity, with the ability to complete the work on a schedule that aligns with the consultant’’'’s availability. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship., * Experience designing and implementing relational databases and normalized data models.

  • Strong understanding of database architecture, entity relationships, indexing, and data optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-enabled automation, intelligent agents, web scraping, data extraction, or machine learning-powered workflows.
  • Proficiency with modern database technologies.
  • Experience translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Ability to independently define project scope, architecture, and implementation plans in an ambiguous environment.

  • Experience within the HVAC manufacturing or distribution industries.
