Quality Assurance Tester

Summary: Under direct supervision and following standard procedures, assesses quality of software programs through manual and automated testing, creates test matrixes following business requirements and applications, by performing the following duties, 1. Tests and verifies quality of software programs a. Reviews and analyzes system specifications b. Builds and maintains tests scenarios, cases and plans based on business requirements c. Executes test scripts and reviews results d. Collaborates with Application Developers to develop effective strategies and test plans e. Creates technical logs to document test phases and defects, reporting and documenting errors

1. Ensures software programs meet client’s needs, are cost-effective and efficient prior to implementation a. Verifies software runs according to business requirements and conforms to guidelines b. Works with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development life cycle c. Assists in troubleshooting issues

2. Estimates and prioritizes testing activities

3. Effectively analyze, develop, and lead the execution of small, non-complex system changes within limited area of responsibility. a. Prepare project task lists by gathering, analyzing, and making recommendations based on client input. Coordinate with client throughout project lifecycle. b. Maintain a mutual understanding of project direction with programming staff. c. Balance project priorities, recognizes scope creep, and ensures deadlines are met.

4. Performs other duties as assigned.
