Job description
Our client is seeking a Software Developer to build and enhance front office applications supporting trading operations. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator who can translate technical solutions effectively for a non-technical audience and thrive in a fast-paced financial environment. This is a hybrid position based in Fairfield County, CT. Software Developer’s Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop, enhance, and maintain front office applications used by trading teams, including pricing tools and spreadsheet-based solutions
- Design and build back-end systems and services using Java and/or C#
- Create and maintain VBA macros and Excel-based tools to support trader workflows
- Collaborate directly with front office traders to gather requirements and deliver solutions
- Support both new development initiatives and ongoing enhancements to existing applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the application stack in a timely manner
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional experience in a Software Developer or similar role
- Proficiency in both Java and C#; back-end development focus required
- Experience with VBA and advanced Excel functionality
- Prior experience in financial services strongly preferred
- Familiarity with front office or trading environment applications a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work closely with non-technical stakeholders
