Job description

We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead and oversee the organization’s Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) environments within a highly regulated aerospace manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of technology systems that support engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, supply chain, and business operations.

The IT Manager will drive technology strategy, cybersecurity initiatives, infrastructure modernization, and IT/OT integration while maintaining compliance with aerospace industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory obligations. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, extensive technical expertise, and experience supporting manufacturing operations in a mission-critical environment., Leadership & Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, support, and OT support personnel.
  • Establish departmental objectives, KPIs, service-level agreements (SLAs), and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage staffing, training, succession planning, and professional development programs.
  • Develop and enforce IT governance, policies, standards, and operational procedures.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for critical production-impacting technology incidents.
  • Partner with executive leadership, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams to align technology initiatives with business objectives.

Infrastructure & Manufacturing Operations

  • Oversee the administration and maintenance of enterprise infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, cloud platforms, virtualization, and business-critical applications.
  • Ensure high availability and performance of systems supporting manufacturing operations, engineering, quality management, and production scheduling.
  • Manage enterprise technologies including Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Windows Server, Hyper-V, backup systems, and endpoint management.
  • Support manufacturing systems including MES, ERP, PLM, quality management systems, and engineering applications.
  • Develop technology roadmaps, lifecycle management plans, and infrastructure modernization strategies.
  • Lead disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity planning for both business and manufacturing environments.
  • Manage IT assets, licensing, procurement, and inventory controls.

Cybersecurity, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Lead cybersecurity strategy for enterprise and manufacturing environments, including risk assessments, vulnerability management, security monitoring, and incident response.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace industry requirements, customer cybersecurity mandates, export control regulations, and applicable frameworks.
  • Oversee endpoint protection, network security, identity and access management, data loss prevention, and security awareness programs.
  • Conduct regular security audits, penetration testing, and compliance assessments.
  • Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies aligned with industry standards such as NIST, CMMC, DFARS, and other customer-required frameworks.
  • Manage disaster recovery testing, cyber resilience planning, and business continuity exercises.

IT/OT Integration & Industrial Systems

  • Develop and maintain secure IT/OT architectures supporting manufacturing operations and industrial automation systems.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, facilities, maintenance, and operations teams to support production technologies and industrial networks.
  • Ensure proper network segmentation and cybersecurity controls between enterprise and manufacturing environments.
  • Support industrial control systems (ICS), PLCs, SCADA platforms, HMIs, and manufacturing equipment connectivity.
  • Evaluate cybersecurity risks associated with OT systems and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Lead initiatives related to Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, IIoT, automation, and digital transformation projects.
  • Support production uptime through proactive monitoring, maintenance planning, and incident response.

Engineering & Technical Systems Support

  • Support engineering teams utilizing CAD, CAM, PLM, simulation, and product development platforms.
  • Ensure secure management of engineering intellectual property, technical data, and controlled information.
  • Coordinate infrastructure requirements for design, testing, and manufacturing environments.
  • Support data integration between engineering, quality, ERP, and manufacturing systems.

Vendor, Project & Budget Management

  • Manage relationships with technology vendors, integrators, equipment manufacturers, and managed service providers.
  • Negotiate contracts, licensing agreements, maintenance agreements, and service-level commitments.
  • Lead technology projects from planning and budgeting through deployment and operational support.
  • Develop and manage annual operating budgets and capital expenditure plans.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies that improve manufacturing efficiency, cybersecurity, and operational performance.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Windows support?, * Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field.

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive IT experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, aerospace, defense, industrial, or highly regulated production environments.
  • Strong expertise in enterprise infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, virtualization, and systems administration.
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Windows Server, Hyper-V, backup systems, and enterprise applications.
  • Knowledge of IT/OT architectures, industrial networking, and cybersecurity principles.
  • Experience supporting production-critical environments with high availability requirements.
  • Strong leadership, project management, budgeting, vendor management, and communication skills., * Experience in aerospace, defense, aviation, precision manufacturing, or regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with aerospace compliance requirements including AS9100, CMMC, NIST 800-171, DFARS, ITAR, and export-controlled environments.
  • Experience supporting MES, ERP, PLM, SCADA, PLC, HMI, and industrial automation systems.
  • Project management experience with large-scale infrastructure or manufacturing technology deployments.

Location Requirement: This position is located on a federal facility. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and are required to pass a comprehensive background check to meet the security clearance standards necessary for work in this environment.
