Job description

  • Identifies and creates systems that lead to efficiencies and improvements in state and district level education data collection, integration and reporting;
  • Participates in presentations and training related to school-based data for multiple projects
  • Drives and informs client discussions and gathers requirements as they relate to reporting, visualizations and resultant data collections
  • Responsible for the management of data dictionaries, Business requirements, creation of reports, updates to reports, data flow diagrams, migration workbooks etc. for all products and related services supported by the regional team
  • Develops, streamlines, and actively participates in user assurance testing procedures and quality control/ maintenance in areas of assigned focus and responsibility
  • Support aspects of the business cycle, including proposals and implementations

Requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise in developing compelling dashboards and reports using visualization tools using applications such as Tableau, SAP Business Objects, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative education data
  • Proficiency with large datasets, understanding of data models, data flows and knowledge of data querying tools.
  • Practical knowledge and understanding of educational policy and practice, appropriate to the role
  • Excellent organizational, oral presentation and written communication skills; including the ability to listen, question and communicate effectively

  • Ability to work effectively in both independent and diverse multi-task team environments
  • Ability to recognize issues, provide solutions, and drive positive change.
  • Understanding of software development methodologies and appropriate use of those methodologies
  • Proficiency in MS Office products, including PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Word, and other databases

Required Experience:

  • Masters in Statistics, Math, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field is required.
  • Must have 7-8 years’ experience in common data warehouse design principles and data structures.
  • Prior work experience (6 - 7 years) using visualization tools and applications, preferably in an educational context or setting.
  • Understanding of application servers and related web-based software.
