Job description

Arcfield is seeking a Systems Engineer to support our U.S. Navy customer, Strategic Systems Programs (SSP), in Washington, DC.

In this role, you will support the Nation’s strategic deterrent by assisting Navy SSP in the development of the W93/Mk7 Weapon System. The successful candidate will serve as a key member of the W93/Mk7 Program Team, supporting requirements development, requirements management, systems engineering activities, and stakeholder coordination across Navy, NNSA, and industry partners.

This position is located at Arcfield’s Maritime Plaza office in Washington, DC, adjacent to the Washington Navy Yard. Daily on-site support is required due to the classified nature of the work. Up to 20% travel may be required., * Develop, analyze, manage, and maintain weapon system requirements throughout the system development lifecycle.

  • Utilize IBM DOORS Next Generation (DOORS NG) to manage requirements, establish traceability, maintain baselines, and support configuration management activities.
  • Perform requirements decomposition, allocation, and traceability from stakeholder needs through system, subsystem, and component-level requirements.
  • Support requirements verification planning and development of compliance matrices.
  • Collaborate with Navy SSP, NNSA laboratories, contractors, and other stakeholders in support of weapon development activities.
  • Support W93/Mk7 Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Working Groups, and Technical Review Boards.
  • Coordinate meetings, develop agendas, capture meeting minutes, and track action items to closure.
  • Assist with development of technical presentations, white papers, reports, schedules, and program documentation.
  • Support major program reviews including System Requirements Reviews (SRR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR), and other technical reviews.
  • Assist in tracking program risks, issues, decisions, and technical actions.
  • Provide systems engineering support for requirements, interfaces, verification planning, and technical baseline management.
  • Perform other duties other as assigned to support Arcfield Maritime Plaza office operations.

Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain an active Top-Secret clearance.
  • BS with 10-12 years; MS with 8-10 years or PhD with 5-7 years’ experience in in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related technical discipline.
  • Experience using IBM DOORS Next Generation (DOORS NG) or DOORS Classic for requirements management.
  • Experience developing, analyzing, allocating, and tracing requirements.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering processes and technical reviews.
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience coordinating across multiple organizations and technical disciplines.

Desired:

  • Experience supporting Navy SSP, NNSA, DoD strategic systems, missile systems, or weapons development programs.
  • Experience supporting requirements management for safety-critical or mission-critical systems.
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Cameo, or MagicDraw.
  • Experience supporting Systems Requirements Reviews, Design Reviews, and Verification Planning activities.
  • Knowledge of configuration management and technical baseline control processes.
  • Experience supporting Integrated Product Teams, Working Groups, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition and systems engineering processes.
