OCI Migration Architect

As a Senior OCI Migration Architect, you will serve as a technical leader, driving a high-profile Oracle Cloud Infrastructure migration involving approximately 2,000 servers. Your primary role will be to provide architecture leadership, define migration strategies, oversee Oracle Professional Services, and deliver trusted technical guidance to executive stakeholders throughout the program lifecycle.

Your specific responsibilities will include:

• Leading all OCI migration planning and execution activities, ensuring seamless transition from on-premises data centers to OCI.
• Designing robust landing zones within OCI, including tenancy architectures, networking layouts, security controls, and comprehensive governance frameworks.
• Evaluating and validating recommendations from Oracle Professional Services, driving consensus, and ensuring technical feasibility and business alignment.
• Developing migration wave plans and detailed cutover strategies for risk-managed transition scenarios.
• Designing and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity solutions that leverage OCI’s native capabilities for high availability and resilience.
• Leading the strategy for migrating and modernizing storage workloads, including expertise with OCI File Storage and OCI ZFS.
• Conducting thorough architecture reviews and risk assessments to address potential gaps prior to and during migration waves.
• Coordinating closely with infrastructure, application, networking, and security teams to facilitate cross-functional alignment and execution excellence.
• Providing support during critical production migration events and overseeing post-migration stabilization and remediation activities.

Do you have experience in Virtualization tools?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Minimum 10 years of experience in infrastructure architecture roles, with a proven track record in large-scale enterprise environments.

• At least 5 years of direct, hands-on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) architecture and migration experience.
• Deep, applied expertise in OCI services including Compute, Networking, Storage, Identity & Access Management (IAM), Security, and Monitoring.
• Demonstrated experience planning and executing migrations of large-scale enterprise workloads, with direct involvement in environments with thousands of servers.
• Background working with VMware-based infrastructure, with strong understanding of virtualization concepts and their migration nuances to OCI.
• Ability to communicate complex technical strategies effectively to executive leadership, guide stakeholder alignment, and drive decision-making throughout migration delivery phases., * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Oracle Cloud Architect Professional certification (preferred).
• Proven experience with data center modernization initiatives involving migrations of 1,000+ servers (preferred).
• Experience managing engagements with Oracle Professional Services (preferred).
