DevOps Groovy Mainframes Software Engineering System Programming YAML Git Data Pipelines

Requirements

Do you have experience in YAML?, The client is looking for a candidate who is technically strong in DevOps and has solid experience with Mainframe as well as technical coding. This is a fast-moving requirement, and interviews need to be scheduled at the earliest.

Mainframe DevOps Engineer

  • This role is focused on true hands-on Mainframe DevOps experience,

  • The manager flagged that previous candidates looked perfect on paper but could not clearly explain their real-world experience

  • What they actually need:

  • Strong mainframe background - application development or system programming is mandatory

  • DevOps on mainframe, they do not need cloud migration experience.

  • Ability to write and explain Groovy code (automation & pipelines)

  • Hands-on experience with DevOps tools: Git, YAML, pipeline orchestration, troubleshooting failures

  • Familiarity with IBM Z DevOps tools (IDz, DBB, Wazi Deploy, etc.) is highly important

Key takeaway for screening:

  • Candidates must be able to clearly speak to what they built, automated, deployed, and supported on mainframe systems. If they can’t walk through their DevOps work end-to-end, they won’t move forward.
