IT Systems and Applications Lead

We are seeking an experienced IT Systems and Applications Lead to oversee the planning, implementation, and management of our organization’s IT infrastructure and applications. This pivotal role involves leading a team of IT professionals to ensure the stability, security, and efficiency of our systems, networks, and software solutions. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of enterprise IT environments, including cloud services, virtualization, network security, and application management. They will drive innovation through best practices in IT service management, project execution, and vendor collaboration, supporting our organizational goals with technical expertise and strategic leadership., * Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise IT infrastructure including servers, networks, and cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.

• Oversee virtualization environments utilizing VMware vSphere and manage server infrastructure with Microsoft Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
• Manage databases including Microsoft SQL Server and other data repositories to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
• Implement and maintain network security protocols using firewalls, Cisco routers, WAN/LAN configurations, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, and Active Directory.
• Coordinate IT projects utilizing Agile methodologies; manage timelines, resources, and stakeholder communication effectively.
• Ensure business continuity through disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, and system redundancy measures.
• Supervise technical support teams providing desktop support, remote access solutions, and troubleshooting for hardware/software issues.
• Oversee vendor relationships for hardware procurement, software licensing, cloud services (AWS/Azure), and IT consulting.
• Maintain compliance with IT governance frameworks such as ITIL; oversee incident management via ServiceNow or Jira.
• Monitor network performance using SolarWinds; optimize network infrastructure for reliability and security.
• Develop policies for information security; conduct regular audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions.
• Lead efforts in system engineering projects involving software development integrations or custom application deployments.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement by evaluating emerging technologies like SharePoint or new cybersecurity tools.

Do you have experience in Virtualization projects?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field; advanced certifications preferred (e.g., CISSP, VMware Certified Professional).

• Proven experience leading enterprise IT teams with supervisory responsibilities in complex environments.
• Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure; experience with migration projects is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of virtualization technologies including VMware vSphere; familiarity with Linux server administration.
• Proficiency in managing databases like Microsoft SQL Server; expertise in SQL query optimization is desirable.
• Hands-on experience with network infrastructure including Cisco routers/switches; configuration of firewalls and VPNs.
• Familiarity with IT service management frameworks such as ITIL; experience with ServiceNow or Jira for incident tracking.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices including information security policies and network security measures.
• Skills in project management methodologies such as Agile; ability to coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to prioritize tasks efficiently under pressure.
• Demonstrated expertise in disaster recovery planning, vendor management, and system documentation.
