Job description

Qnexis is seeking a Software Engineer with strong server-side and web development experience to support software engineering activities for a federal/DoD program. The ideal candidate will have experience designing, developing, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and fielding software products, with strong knowledge of concurrent programming concepts and the ability to work within defined project requirements.

The successful candidate must be able to translate requirements into working software, support the full software development lifecycle, coordinate with technical and program teams, and maintain clear documentation of work performed. A background in graphic arts or visual design is required., * Design, develop, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and field software products.

  • Support server-side application development and web development activities.
  • Develop and maintain software using industry-standard application packages, frameworks, and tools.
  • Apply concurrent programming concepts where required by the application or system design.
  • Analyze project requirements and support the development, implementation, tracking, and identification of subordinate requirements.
  • Work with program managers, technical leads, developers, testers, and client stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver software solutions.
  • Support software troubleshooting, debugging, defect resolution, and performance improvements.
  • Participate in software testing, validation, deployment, maintenance, and sustainment activities.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, design notes, user guidance, change records, and issue tracking.
  • Support web-based user interfaces, visual layout, and graphic presentation needs where applicable.

Requirements

Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, programming, or an equivalent technical discipline.

  • Minimum of eight years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience working in DoD environments is required.
  • Strong server-side development experience.
  • Strong web development experience.
  • Experience using industry application packages, frameworks, or development tools.
  • Extensive knowledge of concurrent programming concepts.
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and fielding software products.
  • Experience supporting project requirements, including development, implementation, tracking, and identification of subordinate requirements.
  • Background in graphic arts, visual design, or related creative/technical design work.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with full-stack web application development.
  • Experience with modern web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, Vue, .NET, Java, Python, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with server-side frameworks, APIs, data-driven applications, or service-oriented architectures.
  • Experience with SQL databases, data integration, or application reporting.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, automated testing, or Agile development.
  • Experience with UI/UX principles, graphic layout, visual communication, or digital product design.
  • Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility, federal web standards, or secure coding practices.
  • Experience using issue tracking or project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, or similar systems.
