Job description

Converge is looking for an experienced Network Cabling Technician to join our team in the Charlotte area.

We are not looking for someone who just wants to show up, pull cable, and disappear. We are looking for someone who takes pride in clean work, understands that details matter, and wants to be part of a company that does things the right way.

Our work includes commercial voice and data cabling, fiber optics, wireless access point cabling, security cabling, access control, cameras, AV cabling, sound masking, rack buildouts, patch panels, labeling, testing, and service work.

This is an immediate hire position for someone with low-voltage or structured cabling experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

Install, route, support, terminate, label, and test Cat6 and low-voltage cabling in commercial environments.

Install and dress cable in data racks, IDF rooms, MDF rooms, patch panels, ladder rack, J-hooks, and cable support systems.

Terminate and test data jacks, patch panels, WAP locations, camera locations, AV locations, and other low-voltage cabling.

Read drawings, follow project scopes, and communicate clearly with project managers, customers, and other trades.

Keep work areas clean and organized.

Represent Converge professionally on job sites.

Help troubleshoot cabling, network, camera, access control, and low-voltage issues when needed.

Work on new construction, tenant upfit, service, and retrofit projects.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in NEC?, We are looking for someone who:

Has commercial low-voltage, structured cabling, or network cabling experience.

Can terminate and test Cat6, and Cat6A cabling.

Understands cable pathways, cable support, labeling, rack dressing, and jobsite standards.

Can work independently or as part of a team.

Takes pride in clean, organized work.

Shows up on time and communicates well.

Can safely use ladders, lifts, basic hand tools, and power tools.

Has a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Can work in the Charlotte area and surrounding markets.

Fiber experience is a plus.

Access control, camera, AV, or security cabling experience is a plus.

BICSI, manufacturer certifications, lift certifications, or OSHA training are a plus., * field work in Voice/ Data Cabling: 2 years (Required)
