Job description
A maritime commons thriving with abundant, economical, modern, and safe nuclear-powered activity - built, serviced, and staffed by re-industrialized American shipyards and people., * Command Internal Distribution Architectures: Lead the engineering, routing, and optimization of the platformâs internal fluid networks, piping configurations, and auxiliary distribution systems.
- Own Vital Auxiliary and Safety Networks: Architect and manage high-capacity cooling loops, electrical switchgear, and critical containment isolation networks from initial layout through operational deployment.
- Manage Electrical Loads and System Balances: Direct complex electrical load management profiles to ensure auxiliary systems support stable platform operations under both conventional transit and active energy generation modes.
- Enforce Rigid Interface Boundaries: Establish and safeguard strict structural and mechanical boundaries at the system level, ensuring conventional ship networks natively accept future reactor inputs without mid-cycle redesigns.
- Deliver Modular Infrastructure Designs: Build highly survivable, reproducible, and modular auxiliary plants that streamline shipyard fabrication and minimize localized spatial interferences.
- Support Class and Regulatory Approvals: Generate the piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), fluid flow calculations, and technical data packages required to clear classification society reviews (ABS) and statutory regulatory gates (USCG, NRC).
Requirements
Do you have experience in Technical Proficiency?, * Education: Bachelorâs or advanced degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a strictly related fluid dynamics or power systems engineering discipline.
- Experience: 8+ years of experience specializing in marine auxiliary systems, complex fluid network design, or mechanical distribution architecture for commercial ships, naval vessels, or heavy offshore platforms.
- Technical Mastery: Deep technical proficiency in marine piping system engineering, thermal management, switchgear integration, and fluid analysis software, combined with a definitive command of classification society machinery rules (e.g., ABS, DNV) and marine safety codes.
- Leadership Posture: A disciplined, highly systematic engineer who possesses total command over complex network physics, resolves intricate spatial and routing conflicts with objective rigor, and drives technical progress through aggressive design loops.
Benefits & conditions
Compensation Range: $150K - $235K
