Job description

GPT Renewables is seeking skilled and motivated Journeyman Electricians to join our team on a large-scale Data Center construction project. This position offers the opportunity to work on critical electrical infrastructure supporting state-of-the-art data center facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial or industrial electrical experience, a commitment to safety, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced construction environment., * Install, terminate, and test electrical systems associated with data center construction projects.

  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, one-lines, and construction documents.
  • Install conduit, cable tray, wire, switchgear, transformers, panelboards, UPS systems, generators, and related electrical equipment.
  • Pull, route, and terminate medium-voltage and low-voltage wiring systems.
  • Perform equipment installation, grounding, bonding, and electrical distribution work.
  • Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and corrective actions on electrical systems.
  • Assist with startup, commissioning, and energization activities.
  • Maintain quality standards and ensure installations meet project specifications and NEC requirements.
  • Follow all OSHA, company, and site-specific safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed.
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, foremen, and fellow electricians to meet project schedules and milestones.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Schematics?, * Minimum of 10 years of experience as an electrician

  • Minimum of 7+ years of commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or data center electrical construction experience preferred.
  • Experience installing and terminating switchgear, transformers, panelboards, generators, UPS systems, and electrical distribution equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements.
  • Ability to follow directions and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Travel between project sites as required, supporting multiple solar installations across Illinois on a rotational basis.
  • OSHA 10 Certification required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen & basic background check
