Job description

The Data Controller / Accounts Assistant is responsible for maintaining accurate, consistent, and reliable financial and operational data across multiple systems. The role also supports core accounting processes and ensures data is handled in line with internal procedures and relevant UK financial and data protection requirements., Data Control & Systems Management

  • Maintain and update financial and operational data across multiple systems
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of business data
  • Monitor entries and resolve discrepancies where required
  • Support system updates and data quality improvements
  • Maintain structured and reliable datasets across departments
  • Support data alignment across systems

Accounts Support

  • Process supplier invoices, expenses, and payments
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and ledger maintenance
  • Support preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Post journals and maintain general ledger records
  • Assist with supplier and payment queries

Reporting & Compliance

  • Support preparation of management reports using financial and operational data
  • Assist with audit preparation and provide required documentation
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and UK data protection requirements (GDPR)

Requirements

Do you have experience in Xero?, * Part-qualified or working towards a recognised accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
  • Awareness of UK financial procedures and data protection standards (GDPR), * Experience in an accounts assistant, finance support, or data administration role
  • Working knowledge of accounting systems such as Sage, Xero, or similar
  • Strong Excel and data management skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple datasets and systems
  • Good organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience in property or hospitality sector is desirable
