Job description

We are seeking an experienced Software QA Engineer to support high quality testing of large-scale, enterprise-grade software platforms. This role focuses on advanced test automation, AI assisted testing techniques, and continuous quality practices integrated across complex development ecosystems. The ideal candidate has proven experience validating high availability, business critical systems, collaborating across distributed teams, and ensuring quality at speed within Agile development environments. Experience in manufacturing operations technology and/or IoT is a strong plus. Automated test design, development, and deployment in the context of web-based user interfaces and transaction-oriented back-end systems is critical. The QA engineer will be enhancing current test plans and regression test systems as well as designing and implementing new test plans and automated test systems for the Telit Cinterion deviceWISE family of products. Strong English language speaking and writing skills are preferred as this role also involves working with development team members, management team members, and field applications engineering team members to design and deploy state of the art quality test and validation systems to enhance our software development lifecycle.

Objectives & Responsibilities

  • The individual will be responsible for supporting and enhancing the software quality and test processes for the deviceWISE product family.
  • Design, build, and maintain enterprise-scale automated testing frameworks for web, API, and service-oriented architectures
  • Apply AI-based testing methodologies, including:
  • Intelligent test generation and coverage optimization
  • Self-healing test execution
  • Risk-based and test-impact analysis
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous quality validation
  • Collaborate with software engineering, product, architecture, and operations teams to define and execute enterprise test strategies
  • Validate system integrations, data flows, and backward compatibility across releases
  • Execute and analyze automated and selective manual tests for functionality, performance, reliability, and security
  • Lead defect identification, triage, root-cause analysis, and remediation validation
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise quality standards, compliance requirements, and release readiness criteria
  • Contribute to QA best practices, standards, and metrics across the organization
  • Participates in focused architecture, design, code reviews and test specification discussions
  • Represents the development team regarding product test requirements and concerns
  • Organizes and schedules work and determines the best approach to solve complex technical problems
  • Works independently and collaborates well with others
  • Follows and improves our design, verification, build, test, and release processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in Software Quality Assurance, with a strong focus on test automation
  • Hands-on experience with modern automated testing tools such as:
  • Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, TestCafe, or similar frameworks
  • API testing tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or equivalent
  • Practical experience with AI-assisted or AI-enhanced testing tools and methodologies
  • Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language commonly used for test automation (Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#)
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile/DevOps delivery models
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and automated test reporting
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of modern architectures (microservices, containers, Kubernetes), APIs (REST/gRPC), publish/subscribe, and event streaming.
  • Strong English language speaking and writing skills
  • Experience with software engineering best practices, including version control, testing, debugging, and performance tuning.
  • Experience in the Linux environment including tools for debugging, profiling, and version control
  • Experience in the Windows environment including tools for debugging, profiling, and version control
  • Comfortable using Visual Studio
  • Experience with code analysis tools like Coverity and memory analysis tools like Valgrind
  • Experience with continuous integration tools like Jenkins
  • Experience with Git source control management system
  • Experience with JIRA agile project management and issue tracking systems, * Experience testing distributed systems, microservices, drivers, and SaaS platforms
  • Exposure to performance, resiliency, or security testing practices
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Experience contributing to QA strategy or mentoring junior QA engineers
  • Experience with POSIX development
  • Linux and shell scripting experience
  • Experience with small footprint devices and working in memory constrained applications
