Job description
You’ll join a fully-remote team building and operating custom business applications (intranets, data integrations, APIs, and workflow automation) for clients in travel, marketing, and related industries. Today, our hosted environment is managed reactively by developers, consultants, and analysts. We’re hiring this role to change that. You’ll manage clients’ hosting operations end to end: environments, costs, monitoring, incident response, and the roadmaps for moving legacy workloads to the cloud., We’re looking for a pragmatic infrastructure engineer who enjoys bringing order to hosted environments, building observability and process where there was improvisation, and working across teams to keep client-facing systems reliable and cost-effective. In this position, you will work directly with technical leadership to assess hosting needs, then design, configure, monitor, and operate the infrastructure our applications and clients depend on, from resource planning through incident resolution and migration execution.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Terraform?, * 5+ years of hands-on experience in infrastructure, cloud operations, or systems engineering
- Demonstrated ownership of production environments: capacity planning, resource allocation (CPU, memory, storage), and server/service configuration
- Experience building monitors, alerts, and runbooks so incidents get resolved consistently, not heroically
- Comfort managing a ticketing and support workflow for client-reported incidents
- Practical experience with DNS, domain, and email configuration (TXT, DKIM, SPF, DMARC), and SSL/development certificate management
- License and platform version management, including planning around EOL/EOS dates
- User access and security management
- Container experience: Docker and Swarm required; Kubernetes and orchestration strongly preferred
- Clear written communication: This is a remote team, so runbooks, tickets, and documentation will be read and used by others
- Comfortable with AI-augmented operations: We use Claude (Chat, Cowork, and Code) as well as AI tooling from platforms like Atlassian, AWS, and Microsoft
- Legacy (private cloud, hypervisor) to cloud assessments, migration planning, and execution
- Event bus and messaging management (Kafka)
- Firewall, WAF, and security management at an application/client level (expert-level skills not required)
- Comfort working within cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
- Cost management and rightsizing across hosting environments
- Infrastructure automation and scripting
- Security-minded operations practices
- This role may require occasional after-hours support
Nice to Have
- Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, etc.)
- Kubernetes administration or certification (CKA)
- Cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or similar)
- Experience in a consulting or multi-client environment
- Technical documentation and independent research habits
- Working knowledge of Agile environments (sprint planning, iterative delivery)
