Senior Cloud Engineer

1. Design, build, and maintain HDAI’s AWS cloud infrastructure, including compute (ECS, Lambda), networking, storage (S3), messaging (SQS), and monitoring.

2. Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, ensuring environments are reproducible, version-controlled, and peer-reviewed.

3. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and deployment automation to support rapid and reliable software delivery across engineering teams.

4. Maintain and optimize existing infrastructure, document and fix issues, update runbooks, and address backlog items on a regular basis.

5. Partner with Data Engineering, ML Operations, API Services, and Frontend Engineering teams to ensure infrastructure meets the performance, scalability, and reliability needs of the HealthVision platform.

6. Implement and uphold security best practices and compliance requirements (HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST) within infrastructure design and day-to-day operations.

7. Participate in operational practices including monitoring, alerting, incident response, on-call rotations, and post-incident reviews.

8. Contribute to a culture of continuous learning, growth, and innovation within the Cloud Engineering team.

9. Contribute to a collaborative work environment with peers across many teams.

Do you have experience in Terraform?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, We are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering team at HDAI. This small and nimble team owns the AWS infrastructure that powers the HealthVision platform, supporting data ingestion pipelines, AI/ML inference workloads, and clinical-facing applications. High availability, security, and cost efficiency of our cloud environment are essential to delivering AI models which can be trusted by clinicians. This role comes at a key turning point in our platform development: we are scaling to onboard new health system partners, deepening our AI capabilities, and maturing our infrastructure practices to meet growing compliance requirements (HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST). You should be deeply familiar with AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, SQS, S3, and VPC, as well as Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform. Strong infrastructure engineering skills are a must, your work must meet a high bar of reliability and security while achieving deadlines effectively. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.

1. 3+ years of working experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering.

2. Hands-on experience with AWS services including ECS, Lambda, S3, SQS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, and related services. Experience with other cloud platforms (Azure, GCP) is a plus.

3. Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform. Experience with configuration management and environment provisioning.

4. Proficient with containerization technologies (Docker, ECS/Fargate) and modern deployment strategies.

5. Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling to support continuous delivery.

6. Familiarity with Linux systems administration, networking fundamentals, and security best practices in cloud environments.

7. Applicants must possess a strong ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and operational issues through effective troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.

8. Experience operating infrastructure in a regulated environment is a plus. Familiarity with HIPAA, SOC 2, or HITRUST is preferred.

9. Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with internal and external teams; ability to develop trust, cooperation, and mutual respect.
