Job description

To provide coverage for release of health information functions, including processing written and verbal requests for health information. Duties include: Opening mail, verification of proper authorization, using EHR system/ microfilm /archival systems to locate electronic health information, reproducing/copying health information, entering all requests into Release of Information (ROI) tracking software and Vendor ROI Tracking system, faxing/mailing/emailing records to requestors, answering telephone calls related to the ROI function and various other office associated duties.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Word embeddings?, * Prior work experience in a medical records department or medical office - minimum of 1 year relevant experience

  • EMR experience, Meditech preferred.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel required.
  • Must be able to use fax, copier, scanners, microfilm/microfiche machines and email.
  • Prior medical terminology experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and privacy regulations
