Senior Cyber Security - Penetration Testing

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree. or 4 years of job related work experience or 2 years of job related experience plus an associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree
• 8 years of job related technical experience
• Linux and various penetration testing tools. (BurpSuite, MetaSploit, Nessus)

Preferred Skills: Preferred Work Experience: Strong incident response experience in a medium to large sized enterprise. Experience interpreting and acting on cyber threat intelligence. Preferred Licenses and Certificates: CISA, CISM, CISSP

Responsibilities of the Senior Cyber Security - Penetration Testing:

• Support ongoing security testing initiatives, validate risk across applications and infrastructure, and help strengthen the organization’s overall security posture.
• Daily Duties: planning and executing security tests against applications, systems, and infrastructure to uncover vulnerabilities before attackers do. Much of the work involves using Linux-based environments and tools such as Burp Suite, Metasploit, and Nessus to perform web application testing, vulnerability scanning, exploitation validation, and manual verification of findings.

Work Location: Hybrid work arrangement preferred with onsite support Tuesday through Thursday and additional onsite presence as needed in Columbia, SC.

Hours: 8-5 - OT is required for any disaster recovery exercises and proof of concept

SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Senior Cyber Security - Penetration Testing for a hybrid opportunity in Columbia, SC. Candidate is responsible for planning and conducting penetration testing and vulnerability assessments to identify and exploit weaknesses across systems, applications, and networks. Simulating real-world attack scenarios to evaluate risk, business impact, and exposure. Anticipates potential attack vectors and recommends mitigation strategies. Maintains awareness of emerging threats to ensure testing reflects current attacker techniques.
