Job description

A leading industrial gear and power transmission company is seeking an Application & Estimating Engineer to support our sales and engineering teams. Reporting to the Applications Engineering Manager, this hands-on role involves reviewing customer project requests, analyzing technical specifications, estimating costs, and providing accurate quotations for industrial gears, gear drives, and repair services., * Review customer inquiries, specifications, drawings, and repair requests.

  • Evaluate gearbox repair scope, reverse engineering needs, and upgrade opportunities.
  • Develop preliminary designs and technical concepts to support pricing.
  • Perform cost estimation
  • Prepare and issue accurate customer quotations in coordination with Sales.
  • Review customer purchase orders to ensure alignment with quoted scope.
  • Support Applications Engineering workload balancing and quoting deadlines.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Customer inquiry handling?, Do you have a Bachelor of Science?, This Application Engineer role is ideal for a detail-oriented, mechanically skilled professional with experience in cost estimation, manufacturing processes, and mechanical design., * B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, B.S.M.E.T., or equivalent work experience.

  • Knowledge/experience with metal machining and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in the mechanical drive/power transmission industry preferred.
  • Computer literate with MS Office; design experience with SolidWorks is beneficial
  • Superior time management skills; capable of handling multiple priorities.

Application & Estimating Engineer Education & Requirements

  • B.S. Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience required.
  • Design and manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with industry standards in mechanical drives, gearboxes, and power transmission.
